Event Details
Between the Buried and Me (BTBAM) is a progressive metal band from Raleigh, North Carolina, known for their genre-defying sound that fuses technical death metal, metalcore, prog rock, and even jazz, funk, and classical influences. Formed in 2000, the band has built a reputation for ambitious concept albums, intricate compositions, and a fiercely loyal fanbase.
Their upcoming album, The Blue Nowhere, drops September 12 via InsideOut Music. It’s their first without Waring since 2003 and features a string and horn section, signaling a more eclectic and immersive direction. The lead single, “Things We Tell Ourselves in the Dark,” is a funky, rhythmically dense track that bassist Dan Briggs says was inspired by Prince’s band.
Unlike their past concept-heavy records, this one is more emotionally driven, described by Rogers as “journal entries, fleeting and introspective thoughts”.

Hail the Sun is a post-hardcore band from Chico, California, known for their explosive energy, technical prowess, and genre-blending sound that fuses progressive rock, math rock, screamo, and emo influences. Formed in 2009, the band’s lineup includes:
-
Donovan Melero – vocals, drums
-
Shane Gann – guitar
-
Aric Garcia – guitar
-
John Stirrat – bass
-
Allen Casillas – touring/studio drums
Melero’s dual role as lead vocalist and drummer is a standout feature, adding a dynamic edge to their live performances.
Hail the Sun’s music is marked by complex time signatures, shredding guitar work, and melodic chaos. They’ve drawn comparisons to bands like The Fall of Troy and Dance Gavin Dance, with whom they’ve also toured. Their lyrics often explore mental health, personal growth, and existential themes, delivered with both aggression and vulnerability.
They’re currently celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Wake with a tour across the U.S. and U.K., sharing the stage with acts like A Lot Like Birds and Zeta.
