Event Details
'Weird Al' Yankovic is an American singer-songwriter, musician, comedian, actor, parodist, and all round funny weirdo. Born in 1959, he hails from Lynwood, California, and is renowned the world wide for his incredibly zany tracks, both original and parody covers.
He got his break after handing a mixtape of tracks to radio host Dr Demento whilst in high school back in the ‘70s. After he played first song, Belvedere Cruisin’, on his show. Yankovic’s path in life was set, and he soon found himself performing at coffee shops and DJing at his university.
Fast forward to today, and Weird Al has sold an incredible fifteen million records worldwide, played over a thousand live shows, picked up six platinum discs, and even received Grammy Awards, including one for Best Comedy Album.
Best recognised for his tracks like Ridin’ Dirty parody White & Nerdy, Offspring lampoon Pretty Fly for a White Guy, and Michael Jackson pastiche Eat It, Yankovic is certainly one of the most unique superstars around.
October 2015 saw him touring the UK and Ireland supporting his latest LP, ‘Mandatory Fun’, followed by Australia and New Zealand and North America in 2016. 2018 saw another lengthy North American tour supporting his compilation, 'Medium Rarities'.
In 2022, Weird Al heads back across the US, where he'll play his hits backed by an orchestra.
