Close your eyes at a BAILEN show and their sibling harmonies will make you believe there is an entire choir right in front of you. Their music is nostalgic with melodic hooks and a deep soulful quality, all with a modern, youthful perspective. David and Daniel (twins), and their sister Julia have been playing together their whole lives. They started BAILEN in 2014 with their childhood friend Pierre, and have already made an imprint on the music world.
Since forming BAILEN, they have starred on London’s West End (Daniel in Close to You), played all over Europe and the United States, and most recently toured Taiwan with Mando-Pop star Yen-J. They are regulars at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City where they recently finished up an unprecedented 40-show residency culminating in the Downtown Comes Uptown series with WFUV at Lincoln Center. They have played The Bowery Ballroom, frequently sing the National Anthem at Madison Square Garden, and have new music coming in 2017.
The band has collectively appeared, performed, or collaborated with Burt Bacharach, The Lone Bellow, Joseph, Raul Midon, Diane Birch, Animal Years, American Authors, Pig Pen Theater Co, Morningsiders, AJR, Oh Honey, Alex Clair, The Marcus King Band, Alice Phoebe Lou, Jon Batiste and Stay Human, Bill Withers, and Dianne Reeves.
